Southwest Community Concert Band 2010 Student Scholarship Descriptions and Criteria
In its efforts to promote concert band music throughout the surrounding communities, the Southwest Community Concert Band has established 4 annual student scholarships.
Southwest Community Concert Band 2010 Summer Band Camp Scholarship 
Eligibility – Open to any Middle School or Junior High School student who wishes to attend the Southwest Community Concert July 12 – 16, 2010 band camp, and has completed one school year of school band or music lessons.
*Student must register and attend the 2010 Southwest Community Concert Band Camp to receive award.

Award – Attendance at the Southwest Community Concert Band – 2010 Summer Band Camp July 12 – 16, 2010.
Selected by – A committee of Southwest Community Concert Band Summer Band Camp instructors.
Tom J. Liska Brass Scholarship
Eligibility – Open to any High School brass instrumentalist from the Southwest Community Concert Band area.
Award – A monetary amount to be used toward music lessons, instrument repair, instrument purchase or tuition.
Selected by – The Liska Family
Eric Healy Memorial Band Scholarship
Eligibility – Open to all Middle School or Junior High students through 8th grade form the Southwest Community Concert Band area.
Award - A monetary amount to be used toward music lessons, instrument repair, instrument purchase, or tuition.
Selected by – The Healy Family
Leo Henning Instrumental Scholarship
Eligibility – Open to any band student who has a band director, private lesson teacher or parent who is currently an active member of the Southwest Community Concert Band.
Award – A monetary amount to be used toward music lessons, instrument repair, instrument purchase or tuition.
Selected by – Mr. Gino Pacetti, an active member of the Southwest Community Band.
- Southwest Community Band Area – currently we have an active membership and audience of over 35 local communities, villages, towns, and cities.
- Active member – A member who attends the majority of Southwest Community Concert Bands rehearsals, Concerts and band functions.
- All scholarship awards – will be selected by the above named and will be approved by the Southwest Community Concert Band board members.

Letters of recommendation can be emailed to scholarships@swcommunityband.com. Please be sure to include student name and instrument information with the email. The recommendation can either be in the body of the email or an attached MS Word Document.
Scholarship forms, essays, and teacher letters of recommendations must be received prior to midnight May 15, 2010.
